Professor of Philosophy at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), Porto Alegre, Brazil, National Council Researcher (CNPq, since 1995), and Visiting Professor at the University of Toledo, Ohio (since 2007). Ph.D. in Philosophy (State University of New York, 1994), postdoctoral research at the New School for Social Research, LSE, Kassel, Université Paris 8, and University of Miami.
